As I was living my healthy life and suddenly one day, I felt a lump in my right breast. I knew something was wrong so I visited Dr. Shilpy Dolas’s breast clinic in Pune for a checkup and my biopsy eventually confirmed that I have first-stage breast cancer. That was a powerful wake-up call for me. Breast cancer was in its infancy, so I decided to go for surgery. Yet I knew that my life would never be the same. I started my breast cancer treatment right away. I had radiation therapy and breast conservation surgery. One of the first outcomes of chemotherapy was the loss of hair and then fatigues, appetite change, nausea, vomiting, and many more. In the time of cancer, it is difficult to find a positive side. But I knew that something good will come out of this and I will win this challenge. Also, support from my family, friends and loved ones and especially my breast cancer specialist pushed me to keep fighting. I am a fighter as I completed my breast conservation surgery and now, I move forward with the joys of life & living a happy, healthy and disease-free life.
