Breast lump treatment is required in both cancerous and non-cancerous lumps. If a woman is suffering from a localized knot, swelling, lump, or bump in the breast, then there are chances of suffering from breast lumps. These lumps may occur at all ages in both sexes.
Usually, most women have a fear of breast cancer. Still, fortunately, most breast lump turns out to be in the beginning situations that can be easily cured, like infections, cysts, trauma, fibroadenoma, or fibrocystic conditions. If a woman suffers from a breast lump, this should not be dismissed as benign. It develops within the breast due to the growth of tissues.
These breast lumps have various causes, which do not include underlying diseases.
These include-
If the infection during or after pregnancy or between breastfeeding causes the breast lump, it will be called breast abscess or mastitis.
Mastitis is when a part or whole breast gets swollen and appears orange-peel. This condition can be easily confused with inflammatory breast cancer.
Most of the time, mastitis is associated with an underlying lump or breast abscess. If painless mastitis is present, it is more likely to represent inflammatory breast cancer.
The cause, location, and growth are the main factors on which breast lump depends. Lumping the breast, women experience painful, immobile, and hard lumps to soft, firm, easily moveable, and painless lumps. If you have cancer, as many breast lumps are likely to be cancerous, pain is not the first symptom in most patients. They will notice an unevenly hard and immobile lump fixed to the breast tissue.
As a precaution, women must consider self-breast examination seriously and check their breasts for 15 minutes once a month, 7 to 10 days after their menses. The self-breast examination will make them aware of their breasts. It is hard to find a lump in the breast if the breasts are heavier. Even then, it is said that most breast bumps and lumps are felt once they reach upto 2 cm. Here comes the role of investigations like mammography, sonography of the breast, Trucut or core needle biopsy, MRI breast, etc. Sometimes lumps are caused by injuries, infections, cancer, and non-cancerous growths. Usually, no pain is caused if one has breast cancer. There are different kinds of causes for breast lumps, which is why the treatment of breast lumps depends on their cause.
Often there are various reasons behind a lump in the breast developing. Most lumps formed in the breast are benign, do not pose any risks, and are not cancerous. A woman who suffers from lumps should get rid of them as soon as possible. Some pretend to be like they have distinct borders, while others may feel a thickened tissue in a general area.
