Breast Cancer Ke Lakshan – ‘Cancer’ pronounced as (KAN-cer) has become the most common cause of death among people, a disease that is found in every other person these days.
The abnormal growth of cells is how cancer forms. Uncontrollable division of cells spread into surrounding tissues. The growth of these cells begin from one part, but slowly spread to different areas of the body destroying the body tissues and finally leading to damage of certain body parts.
Even though many types of cancers are rare, the most common type of cancer is the ‘Breast Cancer’.
The most common type of cancer found in the female body is ‘breast cancer’. It is a type of cancer that develops in the cells, usually in one and rarely in both of the breasts. The cells of the breast grow in an uncontrollable manner, commonly causing a ‘lump’ formation. The cells divide rapidly, forming clusters of dead cancerous cells that can lead to the damage of the functioning of breasts in the female body.
Breast cancer is also of different types depending on which cells have turned cancerous. Breasts have different parts such as lobules, ducts and connective tissues. Most cancers are found to develop in ducts, a type called ‘invasive ductal carcinoma’ from where it slowly spreads to other parts.
The disease is not only found in females but is also found in males. Breast cancer in males is very rare as compared to the chances in females. A study found that about one of the hundreds of cancers diagnosed is found in a man and rest are found in other genders, mostly females.
While the most common symptom of breast cancer is lump formation, some symptoms might not include it at all. Depending on the type of breast cancer, there are some early signs that are common in all and should not be ignored. Here are some early signs –
These are some of the outward signs for early detection of the disease. Having these symptoms does not necessarily mean having breast cancer. Many other changes are diagnosed which all together determine the actual cause whether it is cancer or not. But these signs should not be ignored.
As these early signs of breast cancer aren’t very noticeable such as lumps and can’t be felt, X- rays of the breasts called mammograms may help to detect such lumps. Mammograms are very important to detect tumors or cancer in the breasts during the early stages even when the early symptoms are hardly visible.
The successful treatment of breast cancer is only possible if it’s determined early when the cause is fresh and has not done irreparable damage to the body part. Early detection of breast cancer is the key to its treatment. So, if such changes are happening to your breasts, visiting a doctor as soon as possible is the best bet.
If the breast feels hard and the pain does not go away even after a few days have passed, seek a doctor immediately as it may be a warning sign.
If the redness and swelling have increased and the size of the breasts have increased noticeably after a few days, seek the nearest doctor as soon as possible as the condition might worsen. Extreme peeling and darkening of the nipples is also a warning.
If you have the symptoms and got diagnosed with breast cancer, here is how you can know what stage it is. The stage is very important to determine the best approach to the treatment of diagnosed disease.
There are in general four to five stages of breast cancer, starting from zero and moving to the first(I) stage, second(II) stage, third(III) stage, and lastly fourth (IV) stage. The higher the number, the higher will be the stage, and more advanced will be the cancer.
At this stage, cancer has just taken birth and is most likely to get cured fully, easily and very fast. Stage 0 is considered early detection of cancer.
